Israel is a rather bureaucratized country. Many rules are not communicated to the average person, procedures are not regulated unambiguously and clearly, descriptions even on government portals are ambiguous and often only in Hebrew while automatic translation is crooked and inaccurate.
The Middle Eastern mentality with its wayward attitudes within society, as well as the enormous fines put lawyers on a pedestal, making their involvement, if not necessary, highly desirable.
At the same time, the narrow specialization of lawyers makes it necessary to find the right specialist for each situation separately, which is complicated by low level of digital literacy — most have only a poorly populated Facebook page and you can only find them through word of mouth.
The easiest solution in such a situation is to choose at once a panel of lawyers capable of closing a whole range of issues. One of them, and perhaps the best known among Russian-speaking citizens, is the Eli Gerwitz Bar Association.
Being passionate about design, branding and website ergonomics, we did a small audit and approached Eli with it.
In the dialog we found out the concept of the logo — the scheme of the proof of Pythagoras' theorem on a chessboard:
And it’s simply superb! Strict geometry, evidence base, strategic thinking and no Themis scales or judges' gavels.
At the same time, the quality of the graphics on the site, the lack of elegance of the technical implementation and poor readability in small size spoil the impression:
We rendered it neatly, suggested abandoning the checkerboard, chose a cleaner shade of red and simplified it, while preparing stylish and compromising avatar options for social media:
The solidity of the association should be emphasized by the website, which we went through and collected a list of necessary improvements that can be easily made.
We hope that the proposals will be analyzed and adopted, and that the association will back up its status with a strong identity and website.
Ready to provide a guideline pro bono and redesign the site. Eli, get in touch!
